Área de trabajo: Limnologia, Ecologia y Evolucion de diatomes
Nuestro laboratorio estudia la biodiversidad, evolución y ecología de organismos acuáticos, con énfasis en las diatomeas. Integramos trabajo de campo, análisis morfológicos, experimentos, herramientas moleculares y métodos filogenéticos para documentar la diversidad de especies y comprender los procesos evolutivos que han moldeado su diversificación. Además, utilizamos las diatomeas como bioindicadores en estudios limnológicos aplicados, con el objetivo de evaluar la calidad del agua y apoyar la conservación y gestión de los recursos hídricos.
